Natural History Museum

On Wednesday 22nd November Y3 had an exciting and interesting trip to the Natural History Museum. Upon arrival they were dressed in white lab coats before undertaking various fossil and dinosaur investigations. The children were especially excited when they found the Ichthyosaur fossil discovered by Mary Anning in the 1800s as they had just been reading about her in their core text, Stone Girl, Bone Girl. The animatronic T-Rex was another delight, so realistic they wondered who he was eyeing up as a tasty snack! The museum staff were very impressed with the children’s knowledge of the stegosaurus and their ability to work out what different parts of the dinosaur were for. Year 3 truly became scientific fossil hunters.
