Our Healthy School
Wyborne is a healthy school.
Encouraging our children to adopt a healthy lifestyle is of paramount importance at Wyborne Primary and Nursery School. We are committed to encouraging and developing positive attitudes towards health and well-being through an engaging curriculum.
All aspects of food within our school are well-balanced, varied and nutritious. We have water points with cold fresh water available throughout Wyborne and children are encouraged to bring their own water bottles for the classroom.
Foundation children enjoy fresh milk every day. Foundation Stage and KS1 children are also offered a range of fresh fruit or vegetables each day.
It is our aim to make every day a ‘Healthy School Day’, with a focus on healthy eating and physical activities. Every child has the opportunity to grow fresh foods in our sensory garden and allotment and our school dinners meet rigorous health standards.
Staff organise and oversee a variety of playground games and we have a range of after school activities available to children, including a cooking club and football club.
